(Note I’m writing this in the 3rd person so I can boast a little.)
Carmel lives in suburban Brisbane, mostly on a verandah which looks out onto a tiny ‘back yard’ (as these things are called in Brisbane) full to overflowing with tropical vegetation. She lives with her husband of 38 years, her 35-year-old son who won’t leave home, and a wilful Tonkinese cat called Kasha.
Presently, Carmel is a graphic designer, with 20 years experience, mostly in publications. For 10 of those years she worked within a marketing department, so she is well aware of the marketing aspects of design. In recent years she has been specialising in book design – print books, ebooks and handmade limited edition artist books. In the past she has also been an art teacher, weaver, photographer, secretary, pretend music teacher, and a number of other things in between.
Perhaps we should add that Carmel is beautiful (in a maturish sort of way), highly intelligent, imaginative, and has an excellent publicist. (Just kidding, she doesn’t have a publicist, but she does have an alter-ego called Melisanda who has been writing this and is inclined to get a bit carried away at times.)
If you would like to know more about Melisanda, you can read all about her here.

Hi Carmel,
I just read your post on Yaro’s blog and was drawn in because you felt you’re ‘not good enough’, etc.
I write about this very thing on my blog on the link at the top of the blog marked, Resources. About half way down the page under The Practices is a wonderful practice that will help you with this common problem. I use this every night.
LOVE your blog and your sense of humor!
Kind regards
Oops, it’s under The Nitty Gritty. Sorry for the error!
