The following are examples of my book design work for clients. They are not ‘off the shelf’ but custom designs. They give an overview of the range of my book design work.
The Compass - by Jane Teresa Anderson
Carmel designed and produced both the paperback and ebook versions of my book, The Compass. As a designer her eye for detail is exquisite, and as a producer her attention to detail is immaculate. As a writer and lover of fine words herself, Carmel worked to enhance my text and message, creating a book cover that both informed and enticed, and a page design with textural appeal. Readers of The Compass have told me they won’t part with their copy; Carmel’s design definitely assited reader bonding. It was a pleasure to work with Carmel. She took an efficient brief, offered new ideas and approaches, kept me informed, and delivered on time. I am delighted with her work.

The Career Management Toolkit - by Brian Moore
In late 2007, I wanted to create an eBook but had no clue where to start. I found Carmel on the internet and asked her to help me. She immediately understood what I wanted to achieve with the eBook and in a very short timeframe, Carmel produced an eBook that simply blew me away. I loved it. Since then, Carmel has helped me with other design projects, culminating in the recreation of my eBook into a fully fledged book in late 2009. The book has received amazing feedback and I dedicate that to Carmel. Carmel is professional, creative, efficient, easy to get along with, and she doesn’t just do what you ask – she questions you, challenges your thoughts, your grammar, your words. The 7 Natural Laws of Money Flow - an ebook by Glenda Nicholls
The design and layout for my ebook – “The Seven Natural Laws of Money Flow” was completed by Carmel Glover. She has been wonderful to work with, being an excellent designer and communicator. Her knowledge in the field of graphic design is extensive, and she is a creative but logical and precise thinker. She obviously has a standard of excellence which I search for often, and rarely find.
I am delighted with the appearance, readability and online functionality of my ebook. Carmel’s suggestions for print readiness and online functionality have been very valuable. Her interpretation of layout in terms of where to place pictures next to relevant text has been spot on. Her eye for colour and theme consistency has also been evident. Her patience with her client – who is fairly exacting – has been very much appreciated.
Her work has made my book much more readable than it was, and I’m confident that the reader’s interest will be held longer because of this, which should deepen the impact of the content. I’m also confident that the magical cover will attract a lot of attention and increase sales.
I highly recommend Carmel to any prospective book publisher who has the same priorities for their subject material.
